Here is a spectacular lab-grown alum crystal from China.  The crystals on this dazzling  pineapple shaped specimen of alum are a lovely shade of pink.   Chalcanthite needs to be kept in dry storage conditions, avoid contact with wet goods as moisture could affect its beautiful color.  Like Amethyst, the color will fade if left in direct sunlight.
